Strong second day at track championships

The second day of the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship closed with both Chico State’s mens and women’s track teams finishing strong.

On the mens side, freshmen Scott Pater came in first place in the 100-meter yard dash with a time of 11.15 seconds. Teammate Adam Nikssarian finished first in the javelin throw with a toss of 47.45m.

For the women, Olivia Watt came in first in the 1500-meter run preliminary with a time of 4:45, while teammate Kasey Barnett came in first in the long jump with a jump of 5.62 meters . Freshmen Kylie Herman won the long jump heptathlon with a final of 5.62 meters.

Saturday is the final day of the championship games.
