A public memorial for the student killed by a falling tree branch will be held Monday at Bidwell Chapel.

Pa Houa Lor, a sophomore behavioral health and science major with aspirations of becoming a nurse, died Tuesday after she was hit by a red oak tree limb between Butte Hall and Lassen Hall.
A period for private reflection will be held at noon and a public service will be held at 1 p.m., according to an email sent out to the campus community.
Messages of support for Lor’s family can be dropped off at the Educational Opportunity Program or at the offices for the Upward Bound Program, according to the release.
Those interested in donating money to Lor’s family can contact the Bank of America branch on Cohasset Road or visit the bank’s downtown branches and ask to donate to the Pa Houa memorial account.
An on-campus memorial for Pa Lor is currently being planned, according to the release.
