Chico State’s women’s soccer team beat California State Dominguez Hills 2-0 Friday afternoon on the road to open play in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

In the 11th minute of play, midfielder Lindsey Dias took a shot from the right side and it deflected off of a Dominguez Hills defender and went in.

Late in the first half, Chico State (4-2-1, 1-0 CCAA) scored again, this time in the 39th minute. Defender Cassi Scroggins pushed in the goal off of a corner kick.

Goal keeper Brianna Furner notched another clean sheet and only had to save two shots on goal.

The Wildcats are on the road again Sunday as they take on Cali State L.A.
