In the final day of the Seawolf Spike Tournament on Saturday, the Chico State women’s volleyball team finished 1-1, beating Dominican University of California 3-1 and losing to Hawaii Pacific 0-3.

Junior outside hitter Ellie Larronde continued her great success this tournament, adding 21 kills and 19 digs in the first game. The Wildcats took the first set in a close battle, but fell just short in the second set, tying the game at one set a piece. In the final two sets, Chico State showed its power, winning both sets and the match in dominant fashion.

“We had a great offensive game,” Larronde said.

In the final match, the Wildcats looked to return the favor of a previous loss against Hawaii-Pacific, but the ’Cats fell victim again and were swept 0-3.

The Sea Warriors came out aggressive, winning the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-22. The Wildcats started strong in the final set, but the Sea Warriors rallied strong to finish the ’Cats 25-20.

“Every time we’ve faced Hawaii-Pacific, it has been difficult,” said junior middle hitter Lindsay Quigley.

The Wildcats finished the tournament 2-2 and have an overall record of 3-4. The next game will take place at home in Acker Gym on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Cal State Stanislaus.
