Humans of Chico State: April Fools’ Day

What are some of the craziest pranks you’ve ever seen on April Fools’ Day?

In high school, while I was on the volleyball team, my coach and I played a prank on the rest of the team. My coach and I pretended that we got into this huge fight, and I quit. I called my teammates slanderous things and I came in crying. Then we called ‘April Fools,” and everyone was really surprised.

My dad pranked some of his doctor friends and printed out these fake, cheap cards from the swap meet made of metal that had names printed on them. My dad called the owners of a restaurant in advance to play a prank on one of his friends. He had him convinced that these cards were called ‘doctor cards,’ and he could use them in the carpool lane and get discounts. Well it backfired on him because the guy actually used it at a different restaurant and got a discount.

When I was in high school, I would drive my friends around in my car. My friends were like, the bad kids, and I was like, the innocent one. They were all drinking and smoking. I remember I asked them to not smoke cigarettes by my car and they were like, ‘Oh yeah, for sure.’ I went to go get some food and when I came back, my friends said I got a ticket because they were smoking in my car. I was freaking out and crying and so upset, but then they started laughing. I was stupid and I believed it.

One time I pranked my brother in the bathroom. What I did was I put Saran Wrap around the toilet. I lifted up the seat so he couldn’t see it, and in the morning he went to use the bathroom and his pee went everywhere. It was so bad.
