Chico State men’s golf team proved that they could come out in the top, no matter the weather conditions after finishing second-place on Tuesday with 6-over par 294 at the Golfweek Division II Fall Invitational at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore.

Justin Wiles, a sophomore transfer from Southwestern Oregon Community College, led the Wildcat’s with a 1-under par, which led him to finish third in individual standings.

Four of the five Wildcat’s finished in the top 15 players of a 75-player field. Lee Gearhart tied for 11th, while Alistair Docherty and Chris Doyle tied for 14th. Will Flitcroft shot 1-over par on Tuesday, bouncing back from Monday’s play, coming in 37th.

Chico State will host the next tournament, InterWest Insurance Wildcat Classic, next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8 at Sevillano Links in Corning.
