Roads closed Sunday in Chico due to the recent storms over the weekend, reopened Tuesday.

The storm and heavy rains from the previous week closed several roads in the city because of water-logging.

Traffic in the district of West Sacramento Avenue, River Road and Meridian Road in southwest Chico were closed and affected many drivers passing by.

“Up to now, the roads inside Chico city are all available to pass through, and the closed sections of road have all been reopened on Tuesday noon,” Officer Adriana Warner said.

Another storm will come on Thursday night according to the data from the Bureau of Meteorology. Wind speeds may reach 24 mph on Friday morning.

“The police are watching the change of weather closely and will take measures accordingly to ensure safety of the drivers,” Warner said. “And I kindly remind everybody not to drive motor vehicles on the road in inclement weather. Please call 911 in time when if you encounter any problem.”
