Senior Bianca Armanini won medalist honors shooting a 6-over par and scored a 150 as the Wildcats won the Sonoma State Spring Invitational April 4-5.

It was a huge win for Chico State and the first tournament win since 2013.

Armanini’s first-place finish makes her the fifth player in Chico State history to win a tournament and is the first since 2007. Armanini beat second-place finisher Samantha Oliva by three strokes.

The Wildcats scored a 616 while shooting 40-over par and led by as many as 10 strokes, but Sonoma State came back and got as close as two strokes. That would be as close as they would get as they finished second in the tournament.
