Smucker’s expands in Chico

Smucker’s will relocate a pasta and grain facility from its current Bay Area location to their current property in south Chico.

The relocation from Livermore, California will take a few months and will be completed by the end of 2016.

The current Chico site produces R.W. Knudsen Family and Santa Cruz Organic brand natural and organic juices.

The expansion will make room to accommodate the grain and pasta production following Smucker’s 2013 purchase of Enray gluten-free grain products (sold under the truRoots brand). This move is intended to allow for savings which the company hopes to invest in future growth.

Additional jobs at the Chico location are expected, but an exact number has not been decided.
