California just took one step closer to deciding who should run for president in the Democrat primaries.

On May 1, doors opened at the ARC pavilion and Chico Grange Hall for any registered Democrats in the 1st District to vote for their favorite delegate.

Those supporting Hilary Clinton went to the ARC pavilion. Bernie Sanders supporters made their way to the Chico Grange Hall.

Once there, voters had a chance to listen to candidates speak and cast their votes.

The Clinton caucus had 19 candidates on its ballot while Sanders had 59 candidates.
