After two failed searches, Dr. Ben Juliano, who has been working at Chico State since 1998, was appointed as director of Institutional Research as well as Accreditation Liaison officer. For the first time, these positions will be combined into one and will go into effect Oct. 1.

Juliano will be evaluating data to draw conclusions on the quality of education provided at Chico State. With the data he is collecting, the university can reevaluate if programs need to be changed to offer the best education possible to students.

“Our primary mission is student success,” Juliano said. “If there are certain things we can tweak to further improve students’ success we need to look at the data.”

He said the university needs to maintain its accreditation and if it does he will know that what they are doing is enhancing student success.
