The Young Professionals of the Chico Chamber hosted the first-ever mixer Oct. 19 at Two Twenty Restaurant, where Chico residents mingled with 2016 City Council candidates.

The event gave citizens of all ages the chance to meet one-on-one with candidates, socialize and talk local politics.

“This is the first time we’ve ever done an event like this,” said the President of YPO Danie Schwartz. “Millennials and young professionals should get to know their candidates. Everyone of all ages, but especially the younger generation, will have the chance to get up close and personal.”

The following candidates made an appearance:

• Incumbent Vice Mayor Sean Morgan

• Incumbent Councilor Tami Ritter

• Incumbent Councilor Ann Schwab

• Lisa Duarte

• Jovanni Tricerri

• Karl Ory

• Jon Scott

Four seats on the Council and three measures to amend the City’s Charter will be examined by the voters Nov. 8.
