Chico State holds black history month events

The Black Arts Movement on campus is coming for the entire month of February.

Multiple events will be put on by the office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Feb. 9, 6 p.m.: Poetry Slam, BMU 008
  • Feb. 10, 6 p.m.: Showing of the movie DOPE, CCLC
  • Feb. 14, 6 p.m.: Showing of the movie Poetic Justice, CCLC
  • Feb. 15, noon: Conversations on Diversity and Inclusion: Moving Men of Color Forward, BMU 210
  • Feb. 17, 6 p.m.: Showing of the movie Baby Boy, CCLC
  • Feb. 20-24, Black Empowerment Workshop Series in BMU 312
  • Feb. 21, 6 p.m.: Showing of the movie, Hustle and Flow, CCLC
  • Feb. 24, 3 p.m.: Gospel Choir Concert, PAC 144
  • Feb. 25, 6 p.m.: Black Ball, Chico Women’s Club

“We encourage students and the community to participate in the events here on campus,” said Tray Robinson, director of Diversity and Inclusion.
