In its fourth year, the event brings vendors with comic books and comic themed merchandise, a panel discussion, and cosplay contests for fans and non-fans.

Shane Will, the event organizer and comic creator, created Chico-Con to bring the comic community together, similar to other cities across the US.

Will said he wanted to “share the comic culture to the community of Chico because there’s nothing here.”

For many, Chico-Con is all about fun, dressing on cosplay as their favorite characters.

Amanda Carrillo, an attendee, enjoys reading comics and cosplaying.“It [cosmics] take you to another place,” she said.

Fans like Amanda walked around the convention, where vendors sell goods and comics for people of all ages, that share the same interest.
