The report states that prior to the shooting, a large party at the location was interrupted by a group trying to enter without student identification. A large fight broke out with residents and one subject produced a firearm and fired, striking the victim in the left calf.

Members of the intruding group were described through a press release as, “4-6 young black men… One of the subjects was described as wearing a red sweater and having dreadlocks. A second subject was described as wearing a green hooded sweatshirt.”

Some were allegedly seen leaving the scene “in a grey or silver sedan, with matte grey rims.”

An investigation is currently underway.

The Chico Police department requests that any person with information about this incident calls 530-897-4900.
