Fires in Southern California spread rapidly burning over 45,000 acres.

On Tuesday afternoon California Governor Edmund Brown declared a state of emergency alert for Ventura County and its’ surrounding areas.

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services requested many fire units from across the state through the mutual aid system, including Chico’s Fire Department.

Chico Fire has sent two engines with another one to be on the way, according to CFD.
