The Oroville California Highway Patrol have confirmed that a man was killed in a hit-and-run in Biggs Saturday night.
The fatal hit-and-run occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Riceton Highway, north of Afton Road, and was called in by a witness.
According to Oroville police, the victim was identified by the Butte County Deputy Coroner as 23-year-old Richard Dwain Benish of Durham, CA. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
While no evidence was found at the scene, a preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.
