Police conducting manhunt for suspects in assault, stabbing incident

Two suspects are at large after a man was found stabbed and bleeding in North Chico Monday night.

The third stabbing reported in Chico since Friday, the incident was reported on the 600 block of Manzanita and Ellene Avenue at 10:33 p.m. The victim, a 62-year-old man, had been stabbed several times and was struggling to communicate, according to a release from police.

The man was taken to Enloe Medical Center and was then declared to have suffered serious injuries from multiple stab wounds.

Police could not provide a motive at this time and are seeking information on two suspects in the assault, who were believed to have run south towards the Lindo Channel after the incident. The only information that police could provide based on witness descriptions of the suspects was that they were two white males in their 20s who both wore white t-shirts.

Anyone with more information to help identify the suspects is encouraged to call Chico Police at (530) 897-4900.
