Fallen wires cause power outage in parts of Chico

Thousands of Chico residents experienced a brief power outage Monday.

The incident occurred around noon, affecting those living in the area southwest of the Chico State campus. It was caused by fallen wires, according to PG&E spokesman Paul Moreno.

Over 2,200 were affected by the outage. PG&E crews had to momentarily close part of West 8th Street down in order to repair the downed wires.

PG&E crews repaired the wires and fully restored the power by 2:30 p.m.
