The Chico Community Concert Band will perform its annual Christmas concert at the Lakeside Pavilion in California Park at 3 p.m., Sunday.

The concert, titled “Christmas Serenade,” is free to the public. The program includes a mix of classic Christmas carols as well as a variety of contemporary selections.

The band, a program of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District, has approximately 50 members who live in Chico and several surrounding towns.

Band director Ellen Pastorino explained her hope that this annual concert will bring comfort to listeners recently affected by the Camp Fire.

“In presenting this concert of traditional music, we hope our music will speak to the listener, especially those who have lost so much of their own personal traditions, bringing some comfort and solace, while looking ahead to new beginnings,” Pastorino said.

Lakeside Pavilion is located at 2565 California Park Drive in Chico.
