Swedes Fire is the latest wildfire to hit Butte County

Update at 9 a.m. Monday. Containment of the Swedes Fire is now at 40% according to the latest fact sheet from CAL Fire. 13 fire crews are currently involved. All evacuation orders are now reduced to evacuation warnings.

In what is now the 180th incident of fire to hit California greater than 10 acres, the Swedes Fire has now consumed more than 400 acres as of 10:12 p.m. according to CAL Fire.

The fire is believed to have begun on Chinese Wall Road, east of Oroville, on Saturday at around 8:06 a.m. The fire is currently 10% contained with no reported injuries.

Evacuation orders have been issued for: Deer Valley Road from Swedes Flat Road to the end, Jernigan Way from Hurleton SwedesFlat Road to the end, all of Quality Lane, Lost Horizon Drive to Oro-Quincy Highway, Old Olive Highway to Oro-Quincy HIghway and Feathervale Drive and Mt. Ida Road and all adjoining roads east.
