Chico State women’s soccer came out on top against Regis University on Sunday with a 2-1 win. The Wildcats pulled out their first regular season win evening out their overall conference record 1-1.

In the first 14 minutes defender Abbie Jones, with the help of forward Jordan Doukakis, scored the first goal of the match. This gave the Wildcats momentum and four minutes later, the Wildcats earned a penalty kick in their favor. Forward Susanna Garcia, stepped up and made the second goal racking another one to the scoreboard.

It was only a matter of time as the Regis Rangers gained possession with nine minutes left on the clock before halftime, midfielder Tori Rinsem took advantage and put her team name up on the scoreboard. An assist by midfielder Emily Ramos, set up Rinsem in a ideal position to take her shot on goalkeeper, Victoria Graham.
