Suspect in Whitney Hall burglary arrested

The suspect, according to UPD, took a Macbook Air from a Whitney dorm room.

There was a residential burglary reported at Whitney Hall last Friday at approximately 11:13 p.m. 

According to the information bulletin from the University Police Department, “an unknown male entered Whitney Hall and stole a MacBook Air laptop from a dorm room after finding its door open and the room unoccupied.”

The MacBook Air laptop, which has an estimated value of $1,100, was recovered from a nearby creek. 

The information bulletin describes the subject as a male,“approximately 30 years old, average height, heavy set, with thinning brown hair and a goatee.”

The subject was arrested and sent to jail with a bail of $50,000. 

It is still unknown if the subject is a Chico State student or a Whitney Hall resident.
