Chico State golf sits in second place

The second day of the NCAA Division II Golf Championships concluded Tuesday with the fourth-seeded Chico State men’s golf team in second place with a score of 21-over par.

The Wildcats’ overall leader of the tournament is Alistair Docherty. He finished at 2-over par 73 on the day, putting him in a tie for second place in the tournament.

Justin Wiles had the best round of the day for the Wildcats, posting a 1-over par 72.

Wiles hadthe team’s only eagle of the day on hole four. He was consistent throughout the round, finishing three shots back and tied for sixth.

Teammates Will Flitcroft and Ricky Owaki finished the day with scores of 5-over and 6-over par, respectively.

Chico State remains seven strokes behind sixth-seeded Nova Southeastern for first place. The top eight teams will advance to medal/match play.
