Chico State mens soccer team gets first road win

The Chico State men’s soccer team won its first road game of the season on Thursday after beating Brigham Young University-Hawaii 1-0.

The only goal of the game came from senior Mike Janjigian, who scored off an assist dished out by senior midfielder Justin Saul. The goal came at 17:10 in the first half.

Chico State freshman forward Sasha Peranteau and midfielder Carter Johnson were among six players in the game who received yellow cards.

Coming into the game, Chico State was in second place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. With the win against BYU-Hawaii, the team improves its record to 4-0-1. Wednesday’s victory also extended the team’s winning streak to three.

Chico State will conclude its first road trip of the season on Saturday against Cal-State LA.
