Grayson Edgemon, Staff Writer

Grayson has a rich passion for history, sports and board games. While growing up in Novato, California, he played soccer, baseball, volleyball and rugby. During his alone time, he can often be found watching or reading a historical documentary, playing the piano or exercising with his friends. Grayson moved to Chico in the fall of 2019 as a transfer student from Santa Rosa Junior College. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a minor in history. Careerwise, Grayson wants to work as a sport’s broadcaster, a freelance journalist and an esteemed author. His ultimate goal in life is to dismantle the pay-to-play system ubiquitous in the youth leagues of American Soccer. As an ardent fan of the United States soccer team, Grayson is disappointed that the pay-to-play model systematically excludes children from low-income households and culminates in a loss of talent in the national team.
