Giant inflatable bananas, oversized bottles of champagne and a wall of LED lights were just a taste of what Dada Life brought to electronic dance music enthusiasts at the Senator Theatre Sunday.

“You need to arrive beautiful, leave ugly,” said the Swedish electro-house music duo, Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, in a YouTube video tour announcement.

About a thousand costumed attendees raved the night away at the sold out event. Dada Life’s call to “leave ugly” was inevitable after attendees danced for five hours on the overcrowded floor of the Senator Theatre.

The rowdy crowd sang along and danced in unison to hits like “Rolling Stones T-Shirt,” “Do the Dada” and the duo’s remix of Duck Sauce’s “Big Bad Wolf.”

Dada Life also played several tracks from their recent album, “The Rules of Dada.” Some of the harder, more energized songs were “Boing Clash Boom” and “So Young So High.” They also played “Dada Style,” a remix of the popular “Gangnam Style” by Psy.

Dubstep and drum and bass producer 12th Planet performed an hour-long set to warm up the crowd before Dada Life. The Los Angeles producer played a variety of genres in his set, from trap to electro, dubstyle to DnB. His set was anything but ordinary.

A LED wall the length of the stage played videos of cartoons dancing to the music and occasionally displayed lyrics for a sing-a-long vibe.

Caveat and Anzo opened for the headliners. Each of the artists performed hour-long sets that kept the audience engaged.

Dada Life closed the show with a mash-up of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” and Axwell’s remix of “In My Mind.” As the crowd spelled out “B-A-N-A-N-A-S,” a truck-sized inflatable banana was tossed into the audience like a beach ball.

The DJ duo thanked the audience at the conclusion of the show and handed out dozens of ripe bananas.
