<strong>Honor society hosts Chapman clean up</strong>

Chapman Elementary School is having a “Spring Cleaning” event on Friday put on by Kappa Delta Pi, the Chico State International Honor Society in Education. Volunteers from the organization will be working with Chapman faculty and students to beautify the school campus from 10:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. They will be painting murals on the children’s “ball walls,” potting flowers, planting trees and organizing the gym room. <strong>Career day on the farm</strong>

The second annual Agricultural Career Fair and Internship Day is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Agricultural Teaching and Research Center (University Farm) off Hegan Lane. Students can talk to representatives from more than 30 agriculture-related companies to discuss employment opportunities. Undergraduates of all majors are welcome to attend and are encouraged to dress professionally and bring their resumes. Contact Susie Funk or Sarah Deforest at 898-4262 for more information.

<strong>International internship information</strong>

Students interested in internships in Merida, Mexico, can attend an information meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday in Tehama 107. The Latin American Studies Cultural Immersion Program is for the fall semester and students can earn six units of upper division credits at Chico State while doing an internship in Mexico. Students will complete the Upper Division Theme I: Mexico and Central America during the first 10 weeks of the semester and then travel to the Yucatan in Mexico for the last six weeks.

<strong>Campus magazine seeks student entries</strong>

Friday is the deadline for submissions to Watershed, Chico State’s bi-annual literary magazine, and students can submit entries to the English department in Taylor Hall 209. Possible submissions include: poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, one-act plays, black and white photography, line drawings and illustrations. Students should send a cover letter and a brief biographical statement along with their submissions.
