‘Cats secure win over Toros Sunday

The Chico State men’s baseball team won one final game for now former team manager Tommy Wigton after his retirement ceremony before Sunday’s game.

The Wildcats won 8-5 over the Cal State Dominguez Hills at Nettleton Stadium.

With a very strong outing from junior right-handed pitcher Brad Lohse pitching seven innings, he got the win and improved to 2-3 on the season.

Senior right handed pitcher Ryan O’Shea came on the mound in the 8th inning and got the save for the ‘Cats.

The Wildcats were able to produce eight runs from 14 hits with three players. First year infielder Cameron Santos had a productive day at the plate driving in five RBI’s, including a two-run double.

Junior catcher Cody Bistline and senior outfielder Connor Huesers contributed to the win with three hits a piece as well.

The game was tied 4-4 during the 5th inning, but Santos gave the Wildcats a one run driving a single up the middle. The Wildcats went on to score three more runs and finish the game 8-5.
