Women’s volleyball team swept 0-3 by Cal State Stanislaus

The tables were turned on the Chico State women’s volleyball team as it was swept 0-3 by Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock, California on Oct. 6 after dealing out a 3-0 sweep of the Warriors at home last Saturday at home.

The Cal State Stanislaus Warriors won in three sets: 26-24, 25-17, and 25-22.

Set 1

The game started off with a neck-and-neck battle between the ‘Cats and Warriors with the score tying up twice in the set at 9 and 16-all. Chico State took the early 4-2 lead and were on top 24-22, but the Warriors finished the set winning with a 4-0 run to take it 26-24.

Set 2

The second set was all Cal State Stanislaus as it took an early lead, 14-9. The closest the ‘Cats would come in the set was 14-11 before the Warriors took over and finished the set 25-17.

Set 3

Even though Chico State played its heart out in the third set, it lost the third and final set of the game 25-22. The ‘Cats took an early lead 14-9, however the Warriors were able to fight for the sweep and tie the game at 16 and 18-all with Chico State. Cal State Stanislaus went up 22-18 and ultimately won 25-22 finishing the sweep.

After the sweep by the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors, the Wildcats are now 14-5 overall for the season and 6-3 in CCAA Conference play. The ‘Cats are back in action on Friday night facing off against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos at home at 7 p.m.
