Surveillance images of the man suspected of robbing an Umpqua Bank branch on Sept. 30 were released by the Chico Police Department on Monday.

The robbery took place between East Sixth and East Fifth avenues around 11:20 a.m., according to Chico police.

The photo shows the man wearing a blue and black baseball cap, blue hoodie, blue jeans and dark shoes.

The man handed the teller a note demanding money and walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. No one was injured.

When asked about the robbery, Umpqua Bank employees were instructed not to disclose any information and to recommend going to the Chico Police Department for further details.

This is the second bank robbery within a week, the first of which took place on Sept. 24.

The previous robbery occurred at the Umpqua Bank branch on Pillsbury Road. Chico police said there is no evidence suggesting the robberies are connected.

If anyone has information regarding the robberies they are urged to call the police department at 897-4911.
