Men’s basketball team loses to Seattle Pacific University 50-62

The Chico State men’s basketball suffered its first loss of the season, losing to Seattle Pacific University, 50-62, on Nov. 27 at home.

The team now sits at 3-1 on the young season.

First Half- Eight minutes into the game, the Wildcats held a slim 10-8 lead. The Falcons bounced back and took a four-point lead with five and a half minutes left until halftime. The ‘Cats were down by eight points later in the half, but went into halftime down 22-28. Sophomore Isaiah Ellis led Chico State, scoring seven points in the first half.

Second Half- Five minutes into the second half, Seattle Pacific would increase its lead by 10. Chico State wasn’t able to recover, falling to 42-26 with just 11 minutes left in the game. With five minutes remaining, the Wildcats chipped away at the lead to bring it within 10 once again. After scoring back and forth, Seattle Pacific would hang on to win 62-50.

Sophomore Isaiah Ellis- nine points, two rebounds, three blocks

Senior Tanner Giddings- six points, five rebounds, three blocks
