City council hopes new stoplight will increase student safety

The busy section of Highway 32, where hundreds of students cross every day, will have a new stoplight soon.
The new traffic signal will be constructed between Nord and Stewart avenue, a intersection close by Chico State.
City Council has invested $200,000 in creating this stoplight in hopes of increasing safety for pedestrians and motorists.
Caltrans estimates that 11,000 vehicles and 900 pedestrians go through this particular spot every day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Construction is expected to start late March, and should be completed by the end of May.

wow. terrible article if this is the same project the Chico ER listed. Might want to retract and correct what you publish. City Council had no input on this.
