A new minor could soon be created at Chico State.

In an email sent by the university, Chico State breaks down what this new minor would be to students, “The University is exploring a new minor or certificate program in civic engagement, with an interdisciplinary focus. This program would be used to complement a variety of majors and give students an edge in working in diverse sectors both public and private.”

Chico State later in the email asks students to take a survey to access interest in this potential minor.

Called the “Survey of Student Interest in a Civic Engagement Minor or Certificate,” the survey is strictly voluntary and all responses are anonymous. It will not effect students’ academics or other programs and services at the college.

Students can take the survey here.
