As rain continues to fall in the north state, one downside may be future power outages.

Chico and Paradise experienced many power outages in the middle of the night between March 10 and 11.

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. reported multiple outages impacting almost 300 customers in Chico, Paradise, and Corning while over 1,500 customers in Oroville and Gridley were affected as well. Some parts of town also experienced power line issues.

“The power outage started around 8:30 p.m. (March 10) and affected everywhere from Oroville to Chico to Paradise,” said Paul Morno, Expert Personnel for PG&E.

Storms continue to affect the northern parts of California. Due to extensive rain fall and wind, Morno encourages all PG&E customers to keep flashlights handy while rain and wind continue over the weekend.
