Chico State softball dominated the CCAA in All-Conference honors with six total honorable mention players.

Three of the 15 first-team picks were senior Wildcats. Catcher Brynn Lesovsky, infielder Desiree’ Gonzalez and outfielder Alli Cook were selected by the league’s coaches to complete the list of best players in the CCAA.

Gonzalez is third in the CCAA with highest batting average (.385), slugging percentage (.596) and an on-base percentage of .508. Cook leads the Wildcats with the most team hits of 61 and the most team runs (39).

“It’s definitely an accomplishment to walk away with,” Cook said. “I would say it’s not about the outcome, it’s about the process. If you work hard and put the team first, any other accomplishments are a plus.”

Junior infielder Cyrena Taylor also earned first-team honors and walked away from her second to last Chico State season as Rookie of the Year. With one of the top batting averages in the CCAA of .369 and the second highest in RBIs (37) on the Chico State team, Taylor is a returning force to be reckoned with next year.

Softball’s success does not end here.

First-year outfielder Ari Marsh received honorable mention status along with senior pitcher Brooke Langeloh, who earned a spot on the CCAA All-Conference second team. Langeloh is currently leading the CCAA in the lowest opponent batting average of .178.

Chico State softball players work to perfect each skill in order to win every conference series. These honors and mentions provide small incentives for the hours of work put in to thrive in the CCAA.
