A storm of three-pointers led the Chico State men’s basketball team to a landslide victory over the Academy of Art Nov. 25.

Acting as the eye of the Wildcats hurricane offense, junior guard Corey Silverstrom remained determined throughout the game to keep his team in the lead. Silverstrom scored 24 points in the game and drained five shots from behind the arc.

Joining Silverstrom from behind the arc was senior guard Rob Duncan who finished with nine points, earning them all from outside. Duncan led the team through his skillful passing and tenacious rebounding, racking up seven of both during the game.

Shooting the deep ball was not the only weapon the Wildcats used to build their 83-55 lead in the game, as the team crashed the boards and came away with 49 rebounds.

Duncan and junior forward Isaiah Ellis were the key components in the rebounding battle with both players grabbing seven. Chico State had a 25 rebound advantage over the Academy of Art.

The win extends Chico State’s overall record to 4-1 and gives the Wildcats a three-game win streak.
