The College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management is recognized by their student chapter Associated General Contractors, named top chapter in the state.

The Chico State chapter will be awarded The Outstanding AGC Student Chapter award at the Building Futures Awards Banquet October 12, during the AGC of California Annual Conference.

“Our AGC student chapter was selected because of a rich tradition of community service and engagement,” said Rachel Simmons, external relations coordinator.

The group is led by Construction Management Lecturer and Advisor, Alan Bond.

They have also worked on projects as the Bidwell Park’s Caper Acres Playground. The project will provides new play equipment for the beloved Chico park.

AGC is working with the City of Chico, Slater & Sons, and additional departments in the College of ECC. Civil Engineering students will do the surveying and Concrete Industry Management students will pour concrete for the swings.
