Forum for Congressional candidates set for Monday

Forum for Congressional candidates set for Monday

Chico State has announced that next Monday at 7 p.m., a forum for US Representative District 1 Candidates will be held in Harlan Adams Theater at the Performing Arts Center. It will be free and open to the public.

The event is being jointly hosted by the League of Women Voters of Butte County, the Office of Civic Engagement and Associated Students. Five of the seven candidates that are running will be present.

Republican Doug LaMalfa, who is the incumbent candidate, will be unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. The League of Women Voters of Butte County have been unable to contact Democratic candidate David Peterson.

Democratic candidates Audrey Denny, Jessica Jones Holcombe, and Marty Walters, along with Green Party candidate Lewis Elbinger and Republican candidate Gregory Edward Cheadle, are all going to be there to discuss their agendas and take questions from voters.

The forum is going to be filmed by BCACtv, and the whole event will be posted online to the League of Women Voters Butte County website.

Josiah Nicholl can be reached at [email protected] or @josiah_theorion on Twitter.
