Dance music showcase shuffles onto campus

Union Label brings Haus Party to Chico State Feb. 1 to kick off the new semester.

Progressive house dance beats will reverberate throughout the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium while the audience dances away the back-to-school blues at Haus Party, a special electronic dance music, or EDM, showcase coming to Chico State.

Union Label, a program of Associated Students, will begin the first of a series of spring concerts at the BMU on Feb. 1 with an electronic dance mix perfect for Saturday nights.

“Haus Party is a touring act that encourages artists to connect with their fans,” said Brennan Neilson, senior program associate. “Because of the large fan base in Chico that supports EDM music and the lifestyle that comes along with it, we thought this would be a great event that our students could relate to and be excited for.”

In addition to watching the performance from the dance floor, concert-goers will be able to interact with the artists in the crowd after they’ve finished their sets.

Haus Party is just one of the events open to students this spring semester. Union Label will hold midday concerts, outdoor movie nights, bingo nights, a sushi making class and a laser tag tournament.

Doors will open for the EDM showcase at 7 p.m. and the music will start pumping at 7:30 p.m. with Boots N’ Pants, followed by Charity Strike, Bais Haus and headliners Sex Panther.

Tickets are available for pre-sale at the University Box Office starting Jan. 21.

The price for students is $5 both before the event and at the door, while the general public pays $15 for pre-sale tickets and $20 at the door.

You must be at least 18-years-old to attend this event.
