Update 9/15: “The University has identified, through video surveillance, an individual believed to be responsible. The situation is proceeding through the student conduct process.” Staples said. University Police is involved, however there are no plans to charge the individual. 

Update: The Chicostatepisser Tiktok account posted to inform the community that the account will not longer be posting “due to involvement of the university and local police …” the account when on to say that the videos were “staged” and had used water, rather than urine.

“The investigation remains open,” said Ashley Gebb, Interim Chief of Staff for Chico State.

“Thank you for your support and goodbye Chico,” Chicostatepisser said.

A TikTok account with the handle “Chicostatepisser” began posting point-of-view streams of urine coating various locations across campus last Thursday. There are a total of four videos currently posted, and the account has gained a follower count of 1,448 and amassed nearly 100,000 views as of Wednesday.

The university has been aware of the account for “a couple days,” said Andrew Staples, Public Relations Director for Chico State University.

The University Police Department is asking for the campus community’s help with gathering information about the person or people behind the account. 

“If the individual — or anyone else — engaging in this behavior is identified, they will be held accountable,” Staples said.

Anyone can submit an anonymous tip online or call UPD’s phone number, 530-898-5555.

The locations that have been urinated on include a stairwell of Éstom Jámani Hall, and outside of Kendall Hall, Butte Station and the Bell Memorial Union. This is one of several social media accounts depicting someone urinating on university campuses, a trend that has been ramping up since the start of the semester.
