The 2025 cross country season concluded on Saturday morning in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where hundreds of the nation’s top Division II runners competed at the NCAA Championships.
The women’s team started the day with another consistent and exceptional performance. The Wildcats finished in eighth place with 306 points, their best finish at the national stage since placing seventh in 2019.
Marking her career-best national performance, senior Iresh Molina placed 21st overall out of 262 with a time of 20:48 to earn her third consecutive All-American honor.
In her national debut, junior Megan Malloy ran to a 42nd place and 21:13 time, while freshman Paulina Martins gave an impressive effort for her first NCAA Championship appearance by clocking 21:24 for 61st place.
Junior Sienna Bianchi posted a personal-best national finish, taking 102nd place in 21:51, followed by freshman Kira Foresberg, who placed 129th 22:07.
Two seconds later, junior Jasmine Fletcher crossed the finish line to take 131th in her second NCAA appearance.
Junior Olivia Beschorner rounded out the ‘Cats efforts for a 200th-place finish in 22:52.
For the men’s team, the ‘Cats made their 26th consecutive appearance at the national meet, securing 15th place out of 34 teams and 431 points. Junior Mario Giannini led the way to an overall 57th finish out of 259 in 31:01, followed closely by senior Jesus Villarreal, who ran 31:13 for a 62nd finish.
Junior Matthew Gordon held his pace to finish 31:29 for 78th, while Damian Garcia totaled 31:48 for 95th. Freshman Jackson Stream delivered a solid debut, finishing 145th in 32:31.
Sophomore Sergio Cuartas III and senior Travis Selby closed out the team’s scoring in the 10k race. Cuartas finished in 166th place and Selby finished in 169th, both contributing to the team’s top-15 finish.
