As the snow on the Sutter Buttes begins to melt and flowers on campus trees begin to bloom, Chico State residents are looking for outdoor activities to attend.
The Thursday Night Market makes its twenty-ninth comeback in Downtown Chico, with the first day of festivities being April 9.
However, residents of Chico deserve a light at the end of the dark, gloomy winter, so the Downtown Chico Business Association is throwing a preview party a month early.
The Thursday Night Market Preview is happening on Saturday, March 7, 1-5 p.m. in the Downtown Chico Plaza.
The one-day preview includes live music, outdoor art activities like chalk and family-friendly art, food trucks and more.
The Thursday Night Market runs from April 9 to September 24, 2026, 6-9 p.m.
The Thursday Night Market houses over 100 vendors along the streets of downtown, including certified farmers, the art block, and locals’ lane.
You can get your face painted, purchase fresh flowers, explore handcrafted jewelry, clothing and crafts, create a balloon animal, and experience popular restaurants open late.
The market also has live performances from local bands and comedians. Whether it’s raining or 100 degrees, the Thursday Night Market will be open every Thursday night in the summer months.
