When the State of the Union address avoids the nation’s most pressing issue, it raises the question: Why are we avoiding the Epstein Files? Transparency is not optional or pushed aside; it is paramount within a functioning just democracy.
Jeffrey Epstein’s case showcases how power and influence can distort justice in our society.
Jeffrey Epstein was a financier who was known for managing the wealth of high-profile clients. Through his position, Epstein was able to be amongst “elite” circles.
Brief History of Jeffrey Epstein
Epstein’s 2019 arrest was not the first time he had allegations against him for soliciting minors. In 2006, there was a state indictment with allegations of Epstein recruiting underage girls for sexual massages at Palm Beach, Fla. During the investigation, the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida began an investigation into potential federal charges for sex trafficking. In May 2007, federal prosecutors prepared a 60-count indictment against Epstein. Before the investigation could be completed, in 2007, a Non-Prosecution Agreement was signed, under which Epstein was allowed to plead to lesser state charges.
Epstein then served 18 months in county jail, followed by 12 months of house arrest. The USAO failed to communicate with the victims before the deal was met and those who co-conspired were given immunity. The Department of Justice reviewed the case and stated it was “poor judgment” rather than intentional misconduct within the case.
In 2019, Epstein was arrested for sex trafficking charges involving minors in both New York and Florida. In August 2019, Epstein committed suicide in his cell, according to authorities.
Since then, the case with Epstein has been in the news and on social media. The files are a collection of millions of documents, videos and images related to the criminal activities of Epstein and his associates.
Released Epstein File Documents
On Jan. 30, the Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of Epstein File documents, alongside images and videos. Since then, it has been an internet phenomenon with many on social media posting videos about what’s within the documents and their thoughts.

The file EFTA00878421 reveals a chilling violation of a victim’s belief system. After Epstein heard from the victim that “she felt gods presence next to her when she was in bed, she knows that Jesus watches over her and he helped save her life.” The respondent of the email told Epstein to dress up as Jesus the next time he saw her. This account showcases the violation of the victim’s comfort, turning it into a form of malice.
On Nov. 10, 2020, Letter from Marsh Law Firm PLLC contained the contents of “Information about Possible Childhood Sexual Abuse by Ghislaine Maxwell” which is from file EFTA00078198. The victim in this file, stated she was abused a lot in Epstein’s house in New York, alongside other men.
When the victim began to disclose the abuse to a therapist, she received photographs of her abuse from whom she believes was her abusers. One image is described by Dr. Joyanna Silberg, a trauma expert for Child and Adolescent Trauma, “The photo shows a girl, her face visible, who looks prepubescent with medium length dark hair. Several Caucasian men are holding the girl’s legs spread open … and there is blood coming out”
The victim would proceed to receive death threats, one containing “depicting a mutilated woman with the message in Hebrew, ‘This is what will happen to you if you talk, so be quiet.’”
This is only a glimpse into the world of Epstein and his inner circle. The American public does not have all the information we ought to have.
The citizens of the United States need to unite as a collective and demand that the Epstein files be disclosed to the fullest extent, with no tampering and black lines to be publicly available information.
If our government does not heed to the moral law, upholding those responsible accountable and assuring this doesn’t happen again, then the United States ought not be called “the land of the free,” but rather, “The United States of America is the land of the trafficked.”
