In the final game of the regular season, the Chico State men’s basketball team cruised to a 91-60 victory Friday against Cal State Monterey Bay.

The Wildcats looked like they wanted to prove their ability early, after a wild comeback Thursday against Cal State East Bay. The Wildcats were true from behind the arc, making five 3-pointers, and getting a 13-point lead with just over seven minutes left in the first half.

Chico State dominated the rest of the half with a barrage of 3-pointers, and held the lead at halftime 53-28.

The second half was much of the same, with the Wildcats putting a tremendous amount of offensive pressure on the Otters. Chico State finished the game and regular season with one of their best performances to date.

Spencer Moyer had a great outing for the Wildcats, scoring 12 points on four 3-pointers. Rashad Parker notched another 12 points with seven assists. Amir Carraway, Jordan Semple and Drew Kitchens also scored in double digits.

“We are very confident in our play right now,” Kitchens said. “Every team’s goal is to play their best basketball at the end of the year and we have been doing that during this win streak.”

Chico State finished the regular season with a solid 17-9 record, and a 14-8 record in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
