<span style=”font-size: 12px;”>It seems that all the Chico State baseball team knows how to do is win as it sealed its 14th straight victory Friday by defeating Cal Poly Pomona 8-2.</span>
The Wildcats headed to Pomona to play their final road series of the regular season.
Junior pitcher Nick Baker started on the mound for the ’Cats. He looked to earn his seventh win of the season.
The Broncos struck early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, but the Wildcats answered with a rally in the top of the fourth when they scored four runs off RBI singles from senior second baseman Myles Dempsey, junior right fielder Ryne Clark and senior catcher Ben Manlove.
Baker held the Broncos to two runs through seven with senior pitcher Sean Martin delivering two hitless innings of relief to finish the game.
The four game series will continue at 11 a.m. Saturday with a doubleheader.
