  • Executed “Transfermation,” an event for transfer students
  • Wants to recognize students and let them know they have a place to fit in at Chico State

  • Wants to create a transfer student leadership program
  • Current Vice President of Facilities and Services, former intern at the Gender & Sexuality Equity Center
  • No. 1 priority is respect

“I’m running for this position because the last EVPs have done a wonderful job, and I want to make sure that continues.”

  • Third year psychology major and women’s studies minor
  • Has worked in the Government Affairs Council office for two years part of Freshman Leadership Opportunities program and Alpha Omicron Pi member
  • Knows more will be needed from the position to assist with the student senator position’s assimilation

“As students we should be getting the most out of the money we pay into Associated Students.”

  • Third year honor student, double major in finance and management information systems
  • Reduced debt by 40 percent and increased revenue by 20 percent as the treasurer for his fraternity, Alpha Sigma Phi
  • Has served as the treasurer/fundraising director for seven different organizations

“I currently work in Student Life and Leadership as a student peer professional and it has really allowed me to hear the voices of students.”

  • Advocates for faculty to make sure their wants and needs are met
  • Wants to make the Wildcat Store profitable
  • Supports partnering with AS Dining to have marketplace fundraisers in support of student clubs.

  • Campaign for administrative-wide support of new student organizations to help build momentum and encourage student involvement
  • Addressing the widespread alcohol abuse problem on campus by introducing meaningful policies that can gain the support and trust of the student-body and the wider community
  • Pushing for the “Aim 4 Four” initiative and asking the academic affairs to make it one of its top priorities

“Main focus will be to secure the continual viability of the student academic senate”

  • Double major in legal studies and public administration
  • Former senator at Shasta College, knows difficulties in what it takes to make it run smoothly
  • Strengthen the shared governance process by training the student representatives

“Make the BMU feel like home”

  • Junior public administration major, current AS Outreach Coordinator
  • Wants BMU to feel less like a mall, place of business or study hall and more like a hub of student involvement
  • Wants to move CAVE and GSEC to second floor to increase exposure.

“My goals are to educate the student body, advocate on behave of them and empower students to get involved.”

  • Has been involved in the Associated Students for the past three years
  • Plans to implement polling, focus groups and other opportunities for students to share their opinions
  • Thinks there needs to be accountability with the $2 Voluntary Statewide Student Involvement and Representation Fee that the California State Student Association is considering

“I had a really positive and memorable experience as a freshman, and I want to make sure everyone gets that experience as by getting involved with the campus and the community.”

  • Involved in Freshman Leadership Opportunity, speech and debate team, CAVE, Christian Challenge, Democratic Club
  • Wants to be a link between student life and the Chico community
  • Safety, advocacy and collaboration with focus on bike safety, safety walks and increasing community service

“It’s not just about being environmentally sustainable. It’s about being economically sustainable.”

  • Hopes to include more voices in next year’s This Way to Sustainability Conference
  • Believes Chico should implement policies from other countries such as New Zealand that surpass in sustainability
  • Wants to strive to improve campus’ gold STARS by collaborative effort, starting with water waste

“I like to engage with the students around me, I present myself as a person that people feel eager to come up to and ask for help in class.”

  • Connect students to the faculty, administration and to the majors in this college
  • Political science major, familiar with organizational structure of businesses
  • One of the most pressing issues in this college is communication between students and the administration.
