Ensemble to jazz up campus theatre

Chico State School of the Arts presents the Jazz X-Press ensemble 7:30 p.m. April 25 in Harlen Adams Theatre.

Led by Professor Rocky Winslow, director of jazz studies at Chico State, the Jazz X-Press will perform pieces by Thad Jones, Maria Schneider, Alan Broadbent and Anita Brown.

The ensemble will be joined by “fiery, honest and maniacally talented”

 Greg Gisbert, a nationally renowned trumpet player, as well as saxophonist Mark Simon.

Todd Filpula will direct the Chico High School Jazz Ensemble to open the show.

The talented and dedicated members of the X-Press are sure to create a fun and memorable evening for the jazz connoisseur and newcomer alike.

Advance tickets will be available for $15 general, $13 for seniors or $6 for students or children.

Tickets can be purchased at the University Box Office on the
corner of Third and Chestnut streets, as well as online or by phone. Add $2 for tickets purchased at the door and $4 if ordered online or by phone.
