The woman struck and killed by an oncoming train early Monday morning has been identified as Chico State student Samantha Lewis, 20.
Chico Police Lt. Mike O’Brien confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Lewis was the individual struck at around 5 a.m. that morning.
Joe Wills, Chico State spokesman, confirmed that Lewis, a nutrition and food sciences major according to her Facebook page, was a student at Chico State.
The college’s flag will be lowered tomorrow in Lewis’ memory.
