‘Cats top no. 14 ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills

The Chico State men’s soccer team got back into the win
column Sunday with a 2-1 victory over the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Joachim Gasmi got the scoring started for the Wildcats in the 26th minute on a rebound off the keeper.

The ’Cats got another goal seven minutes later by Jake Ward to give them a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Toros scored their only goal of the match in the 86th minute on a free kick from 25 yards out.

Chico State improved to 6-2 overall on the early season and 4-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.

They will return to University Stadium next Friday to take on Cal State San Bernardino. It will be “Pack the House” night as the Wildcats are looking to set a new attendance record for University Stadium.
